FertiLedger — Privacy Policy

FertiLedger is a business management app for Indian agri-input (pesticide & fertilizer) dealers and their staff. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to be consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).

By using FertiLedger you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are

FertiLedger ("we", "us") provides the FertiLedger dealer app and the backend service at api.fertiledger.com. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@fertiledger.com.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect Aadhaar, biometric data, or bank/card numbers, and the app contains no advertising and no third-party ad/analytics trackers.

3. How we use your information

To provide the core features — billing, inventory, customers, credit, reports, and seeds.
To authenticate you (phone + PIN) and protect accounts (brute-force lockout).
To sync your data across your devices and keep it available offline.
To maintain security and an audit trail (who did what, when).
To operate your subscription plan (free / premium tiers).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Sharing

Within your organisation: data is scoped to your business (multi-tenant, row-level isolation). Staff see only what their role permits.
Service providers: our hosting provider (Hostinger VPS) stores the data on our behalf under contract. No third-party marketing or ad networks.
Legal: we may disclose information if required by law.

5. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS.
PINs are stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash — never in plain text.
Strict per-organisation isolation (row-level security) and an append-only audit log.

6. Data retention

We keep your business records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet tax/legal obligations. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (e.g. GST records).

7. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

You may request to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. To exercise these rights, email support@fertiledger.com and we will respond within 30 days. Dealers control their own customers' records within the app and are responsible for lawful use of that data.

8. Children

FertiLedger is a business tool intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
